Before you start to install GSMforms please make sure that you have Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0 with Service Pack 1 and Microsoft Installer 3.0 or later already installed on your computer. If they are not installed, the procedure described bellow will detect that and will stop.

WARNING: use the version which fits your Windows version. Using the wrong version might lead to loss of data. We recommend you to read more about Windows Installer at www.microsoft.com.

If you install on Windows NT/2000/XP, you need to have administrator privilege to perform the entire installation.

To install, follow these steps:

• Run setup.exe located in the kit directory and follow the instructions on the screen. The installation program will first check if you have Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 and Microsoft MDAC 2.8 or later installed on your computer. If they are not found, the setup program will inform you and provide the location from where you can obtain them. After each installation you might be requested to reboot your computer. As well, after each installation you need to run again setup.exe located in the kit directory.
  
  
• After GSMforms v1.0 has been installed, you need to install the cable/infrared/bluetooth drivers to connect your phone to the computer. After cable drivers are installed, phone drivers must also be installed. Phone drivers allows operating system to communicate with phone, the same way it communicates with a modem. When phone drivers are installed, a serial communication port value (eg. COM 4) is assigned to phone modem. Knowing this port value allows you to set the connection port manually in Settings screen.
  
  On some operating systems you will need to reboot the computer after the installation is finished.



The installation is ready now. To run GSMforms v1.0:

• Connect the phone to the computer.
• Double click GSMforms v1.0 shortcut on your desktop or click Start -> Programs -> OptoEl -> GSMforms v1.0

The installation of GSMforms provides you the free version of this application that can be used for only one user. To obtain a licensed version of the GSMforms run the application, go to menu Help -> About. Click on Request license button. License request screen appears. Enter the company name, select the number of users you desire and press Generate. Send the generated code to support@optoelsoft.com and a license file will be provided. Copy the license file into the application directory. The next time you run GSMforms the license will be activated.
